Rosewater is not something that is too difficult to make and once you have mastered the art of making the rose water based, all you need to do next is to add other ingredients to take the benefit of this rosewater to the next level.
MAKING YOUR OWN ROSE WATER
To make a perfect home-made rose water, all you need is about a handful or two rose petals only. It is important to make sure that you choose the right type of rose. You want to choose the bright pink roses that have sweet fragrance and they are still very delicate when you touch them. This type of roses is usually known as damask roses
Even though it is originated in Iran, but nowadays it has been grown in America, Europe, as well as Asia. This rose has been depicted as edible. If you buy the rose at a florist, make sure you tell them the type of rose you want and the purpose of the rose. Otherwise they might misunderstood and give you the regular rose.
Once you get the right type of rose, make sure that you make the rose water on the same day to avoid the rose become slightly wither. Remove the petals from its stem and wash the petal clean and dry them with clean soft material. This steps must be done very gently as rose petals are very fragile.
After all the petals are clean and dry, prepare clean water in a vessel and place your rose petal in the vessel with the water. Make sure the water level is enough to immerse all of the rose petals. Afterward, bring this to boil in low heat. After sometimes, the rose petal will turn slightly whiter and the water’s color will become pinker.
Once the above result is achieved, remove the vessel from heat and strain the rose petal, place the rose water only in a clean spray bottle and it is now ready to use. Make sure that the rosewater is completely cooled down before placing them in a spray bottle, especially the plastic spray bottle to avoid any reaction from plastic and heat.
Since it is 100% natural rosewater, always store the rosewater in your refrigerator so that it will lengthen its life shelf. The rose water might have residue after several months, however, as long as the rose water is still pink in color and smell fresh, they are still good to be used. You should discard the rosewater once the color has slightly turned to darker color.
ROSE WATER AND LEMON JUICE
To make your skin lighter, adding lemon juice into your rosewater has also been believed for its ability to remove blemish from your skin and also tighten your pores as well as removing acne breakout. Hence, mixing lemon juice and rosewater can enhance the benefits that the rosewater have alone in making your skin color more even and brighter which means can also resulted in lighter skin color.
