How to Naturally Lighten Hair color

Your current hair is beautiful, but sometimes you just need a change. One thing you can do to get a better look on your hair is simply by having a lighter hair color.

Most of people without any doubt dye or bleach their hair with chemical products to lighten the color, but if you are the one who has a problem with that because you are afraid those products damage your hair instead of making it beautiful, try to go natural.

The followings are the steps you can do to lighten your hair color in natural way and by using natural remedies :

Lightening all color types

Head outdoors

The sun has a natural bleaching effect on hair, so you can wait for a sunny day and then leave your hair down for the sun.

Use vinegar

Vinegar works to lighten hair.

  • First, wet your hair ; and then
  • Rinse hair with apple cider vinegar;
  • Leave it on for a while and then wash your hair.

Doing this regularly will lighten your hair.

Use baking soda

In addition as an ingredients of making cake, baking soda also works to lighten your hair color.

  • Sprinkle your hair with baking soda (the amount depends on the length of your hair);
  • Give it a good rub-down
  • Leave it on for a while and then wash your hair.

You can repeat it regularly and you will see that it bleaches your hair naturally.

Use some black tea

Black tea is rich of tannic acid which can bring out highlights in your hair over time.

  • Brew a very strong black tea, pour it through your hair.
  • Leave it on for at least 30 minutes.
  • Rinse your hair with warm water.

Use some olive oil

Beside nourishing hair, olive oil also brings out the natural highlights of your hair.

  • Take a few drops of olive oil and apply it on your hair.
  • Let it set in your hair at least for 30 minutes before you rinse it.

Bringing out blonde highlights

If you have a blonde hair, you can try to :

Spray on some lemon juice

  • Pour lemon juice into a spray bottle.
  • Spray it on your hair.
  • Let it dry for at least 20 minutes before you wash your hair.

Note : Lemon juice can dry out hair when it is used often, so for the best result mix it with a little amount of oil to keep the hair soft.

Use some chamomile tea

The natural chemical of the chamomile blooms brings out the blonde undertones in hair.

  • Make the chamomile tea with boiling water.
  • Wait until the tea is completely cool and apply it on your hair.
  • Sit under the sun at least for 30 minutes.

Use dried marigold

Its effect on your hair is similar to the chamomile flowers, brings you the golden highlights.

  • Put a cup of water, mix it with a cup of apple cider vinegar and some marigold flowers and boil the mixture.
  • Strain out the flower nd wait until the liquid completely cool and then spray it to your hair.
  • Massage it to your scalp and hair gently and let it dry by itself before you rinse it out.

Bring out red highlights

Use some berry tea

If you want to bring out your red highlights, red berries will work.

  • Brew the berries ( kind of berries that will get red when it is brewed such as raspberry, blackberry or pomegranate).
  • Pour it through your hair and let it soak at least for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse your hair.

Try the beet juice

  • Mix it with a bit of distilled water.
  • Apply it on your hair and let it soak for 20-30 minutes,
  • Rinse your hair.

Make  a cinnamon mask

Using a cinnamon mask is one of great ways to bring out the caramel undertones in your hair.

  • Mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of cinnamon with a few cups of water (the amount depends on the length of your hair).
  • Coat your locks
  • Let it soak in your hair before you rinse it out.

Those treatments are very easy to be done at home, and most of the ingredients are easy to be found. You even can start looking for the remedies at your own kitchen! Good luck with your beautiful lighter hair color.
