How to Fade Deep Scars from Self-Harm Cuts on Wrist

September 28, 2016 by Admin2 Leave a Comment

Every scar has its story, so does a scar in the wrist. But the time flies and you  realize that the scars are disguisting, make you feel uncomfortable and you want to wear your favorite clothes without worry about the scars will be revealed. Unfortunately a self-harm cuts scar, especially the deep one, almost impossible to be completely removed without through any plastic surgery procedure.

But if you have no interest for doing any plastic surgery, you still can make those scars fade away little by little. The followings are some steps you can do to make the scars fade. Time and patient, of course, are needed.

Using topical treatment

  1. Mederma

Mederma is a gel which is created from onion extract combined with water, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, xanthan gum, allantoin, methylparaben, sorbic acid etc. Applying this gel will not make the scars gone, but the scars becomes softer, smoother and unnoticeable.

How to use

  • For new scars, you can apply it regularly once a day at least for 2 months.
  • For old scars, apply it once a day for at least 3 to 6 months.

  1. Use bio-oil

It is an optional product beside mederma. Bio-oil also  well-known to reduce the looks of scars. This oil maintains the elasticity of scar tissue and helps to make the scars seems blend with the skin around it.

How to use :

  • Clean the scars with water.
  • Apply some drops of bio-oil directly to the scars and leave it in until it dries by itself.

Use home remedy

Along with applying the topical treatment, you can use some home remedies to increase its work. These home remedies are optional, means you can use one of them based on your preference. And it is important to be noted that it is only “a help” to make the scars fade, not to remove all of it completely.

  1. Use lemon juice

Cover the scars

If you want to make the scars fade faster so that you can feel comfortable to hang out without worry your scars are clearly seen, you can use some make up tricks to cover it.

  • First, you have to clean the scars (cleaning like you clean your face before put any make up)
  • Dry your skin by patting it with a clean towel.
  • Apply concealer to the scar and skin around it properly. Use the concealer which color is lighter than your skin tone.

  • Finally, apply talc or translucent powder to the scars and skin around them. Make sure the color of the scars same as the skin around them.

The only way to make the scars go away is by doing a plastic (cosmetic) surgery. Even a medical surgery or laser only can cover the scars, change the texture, or remove the top layer of skin to reduce the scars appearance. It is true that none of the steps mentioned above and the other remedies (which  cannot be mentioned one by one ) can dramatically reduce the scars appearance, but they can make it fade after a period time of using and applying.  Hopefully, it can make you have more self confidence.
