Home remedy of olive oil for cracked hands
If you lived in tropical or dry climate, it’s common for you to experience skin cracks. Bathing with excessive hot water can also make your skin crack. Although the application of Vaseline helps the situation, it only gives you limited result. If that’s the case, you can try soaking your hands in a soothing olive oil soak. The steps are pretty easy to make as shows below:
Things you need:
3 cups of water
2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 cup of milk (any kind of cow’s milk)
Hand cream
Steps:
- Pour 3 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin olive oil, 2 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 cup of milk in a microwave-safe bowl then, stir the ingredients evenly. Don’t forget to choose a bowl large enough to dip both of your hands comfortably.
- Microwave the mixture on medium setting for about 20 minutes. Remove the bowl, stir and carefully test the heat of the mixture with your little finger. Make sure the mixture is warm enough to touch but not too hot. If it’s not enough, put it back to the microwave and reheat it on a low setting for about 10-20 seconds.
- After everything is ready, dip both of your hands in the olive oil soak for 10-15 seconds. If the mixture begins to cool down, microwave it again for an additional 10-20 seconds. You need the mixture to be warm not hot so don’t overheat it.
- Remove your hands from the soak and risen off the olive oil mixture by using lukewarm water. Dry your hand before applying your regular basis hand cream. Do not re-use the remaining olive oil soak so when you’re done, dump the remaining into the drain.
