Eyes are the windows to the soul and usually the most attractive part of our bodies so it is no wonder that we want to keep them looking healthy and youthful for as long as we can. As time passes, our sensitive eyes may become droopy and tired looking, which can make us look tired and older than we actually are. Droopy eyelids are one of the most common issues a lot of people deal with, and they can happen to anyone, regardless of age.
There are a few cosmetic treatments that can fix this problem such as Botox injections or surgical procedures, but if you are not keen on going under the knife, luckily there is a myriad of things you can do that can help you with this issue.
Magic Cucumber
By now everyone knows that cucumber does wonders for the eyes, but did you know that it can also help with droopy eyelids? Slice a cucumber and put it in the fridge. After an hour, when the slices are chilled, place them on your eyelids and leave them on for about 20 minutes. Chamomile tea is not only super delicious but also quite effective when it comes to fixing droopy eyelids. Chamomile has natural anti-inflammatory and calming properties, and it is a perfect natural remedy for a variety of skin issues. Simply boil some tea bags, let them cool and place them in the fridge before use. Leave the teabags on your eyes for about 25 minutes and apply a moisturizer afterward. You can do this daily for best results.
Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera is good for your skin and can help with the droopy eyelid problem. It is easy to use, and you can make a paste out of it at home to help rejuvenate your eyes and make them glow again. Just mix two tablespoons of oatmeal, four tablespoons of aloe vera gel, three spoons of yogurt and make a paste. Apply it to your eyelids and leave the paste on for about 20 minutes, and rinse off with cool water.
Cool Water and Ice Cubes
One of the simplest remedies for droopy eyelids is simply cold water or good old ice cubes. Splash your face with cool water several times a day, or gently rub ice cubes for about a minute over your eyelids. Do not leave the ice cubes on for a long time as the extremely cold temperature can actually damage your skin.
Egg Whites
Using an egg white to tighten the eyelids will give you almost instant results that will last for a couple of days after the treatment so why not give it a try? First of all, make sure to remove all makeup from your eyelids and to pat them dry. Next, separate a yolk from the egg white and dip a cotton swab into the white part. Rub it across the eyelid and leave it on until it dries. You can do this several times a week for best results.
Eat a Healthy Diet
The most obvious advice is to simply keep a healthy diet. Eat an abundance of fruit and vegetables and drink lots of water to keep your body healthy and youthful and your eyelids tight. Eat more grapes, as they are not only delicious but also rich in resveratrol which helps prevent and slow down the aging process of the cells.
