Oily skin requires a lot of attention and hard work. It easily catches dirt from the environment and is more prone to breakouts and blackheads. It usually releases excess natural oil and it needs special treatment to keep it clean, toned, and flawless. It is the most irritating skin type as you feel the need to wash your face more often than your dry-skinned friend, but sometimes harsh scrubs and facial cleansers can overstimulate your already open pores to produce more oil to protect themselves.
Maybe you’ve already found a perfect commercially produced face mask for your oily skin, maybe you haven’t, but whatever the case may be, why not give one of these DIY masks a chance? Maybe switching to natural ingredients will help your skin feel smoother and healthier and keep it youthful and bright, as the natural ingredients do not carry the risk of side effects with them, unlike chemicals. Just make sure you are not allergic to some of them and you can safely use these masks more than once a week!

Clay and Witch Hazel Mask
Clay is a great deep pore cleanser as it literally pulls out the dirt out of them, while witch hazel is a great astringent that tightens up the pores as they dry. To make this mask, combine one tablespoon of witch hazel with one teaspoon of bentonite clay and two drops of lemon essential oil. Stir the ingredients together using a non-metal spoon in a non-metal bowl. Apply the mask to your face with clean fingers and let it sit for about 10 minutes, or 20 minutes if your skin is very oily. Rinse it off with warm water and apply a moisturizer.

You will immediately feel that your face is clean and smooth, and best of all, you can use this cheap mask twice a week if needed!
Fruity Mask
Try not to eat this one, though! Mash a tomato and papaya and add a few drops of lemon, orange, or grapefruit juice and stir well. Apply to the oily areas and let the mask sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water and applying a moisturizer. Because all these fruits are loaded with vitamin C and have astringent properties, they are great for oily skin! However, be careful not to apply this mask to dry areas of your face as it can cause dry patches.
Tomato Mask
Tomatoes are not only heavenly delicious but also great for your face! They dissolve the extra oil and reduce the size of the pores. Tomato is a natural astringent and therefore a perfect match for the oily skin.
To make the mask, mash one tomato and apply it to the oily areas. Let the tomato mask sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing. You can use this mask two or three times a week to tone your face, diminish the blemishes and acne scars, and to make your skin radiant and healthy.
